"Norwegian Wood" by The Beatles is a great song for intermediates because of the fact that it uses both chords (open-position) and a melody in the entire song. But don't worry, it isn't too hard. Just try your best, and soon you'll be able to master it and play for an audience. :)
"House of the Rising Sun" is a fairly easy piece to play and mainly consists of open-position chords. It is a common folk song that many beginner guitarists learn to play. However, there is a new, but simple pattern (you never learned it) that is used in the song, which is what makes it unique. Enjoy this song folks! \(-.-)9
"Wipe Out" by The Surfaris is a fast, and boogy(ish) song to play for intermediates, a little harder than the other songs that you've played so far. Back in the 1960s if you could play this song, you were considered as "cool". Pretty awesome huh? So if you're up for the challenge, try out this song and play for your friends. I bet that they'll say, "Cool, man...". :D
"Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd is a classic and famous guitar piece which many guitarists like to play. It involves switching to more than 3 open-position chords and several barre chords. The chords will be played as the verses and chorus of the song, while the barre chords will be the solo part. Don't worry, it isn't too hard. Now who's ready to rock'n roll?
